Dog Health: your German Shepherd

German Shepherds, also known as Alsatians, are a strong and extremely popular breed of dog. Not only are they great watch dogs but they make a wonderful family pet as well and can easily be trained to obey simple and even more complex commands. Taking care of a German Shepherd’s dog health is something that does not need to take a lot of work and can be done with a few simple dog health tips!

Grooming your German Shepherd is best done on a weekly basis but during their shedding season the long haired Alsatians may need daily brushing. Bathing your dog once a month will also aide in reducing shedding and will help keep their fur in top condition! Another way to keep your dog’s health in good order is to give them regular exercise, walks in the park and even dog training can double up as a mental stimulator that will offer exercise and a bonding opportunity for you and your dog!

Dog health is something that can be taken care of in little doses and if you keep an eagle eye on your dog’s health you can prevent long term and dire problems.
